A Hillsborough County jury returned a verdict in favor of Julian’s client Paulina Becerra-Lopez, in the amount of $1,078,000.00. The jury trial was a 4 day trial. The insurance company’s highest offer was $50,000.00. Ms. Becerra alleged her apartment building had installed a defective wheelchair ramp leading to her apartment, which caused her wheelchair to tip over, resulting in a leg fracture and hip injury.
$402,380 Jury Verdict
A Hillsborough County jury returned a verdict in favor of Julian’s client in the amount of $402,380.00. The trial lasted for three days and the highest offer from the cab company that caused the crash was only $25,000 before the trial. Due to the size of the verdict, the client was entitled to add a penalty of the attorney’s fees plus costs to the verdict. Mr. Sanchez’ client sustained a low back injury in the car accident with the taxi.
$167,110.00 Jury Verdict
A Hillsborough County jury returned a verdict in the amount of $167,110.00 in favor of Julian’s client. The insurance company defending the claim (State Farm) had only offered $7500 to settle the claim. As a result of the size of the verdict, the insurance company also paid $100,000 for the attorney’s fees and costs of Julian A. Sanchez, P. A. The injuries involved a nonsurgical injury to the low back of Julian’s client.
